This leaflet can be given to someone if they are taking a treatment for diabetes, either insulin or a sulphonylurea, which can cause low blood sugar levels or hypoglycaemia ('hypo'). A hypo is when the blood sugar (glucose) level falls too low. Any blood glucose less than 4.0mmol/L should be treated.
